Macmillian Coffee Morning 2023

On Wednesday 27th September 2023, we hosted QMP’s annual Macmillian Coffee Morning in aid to raise money for an incredible charity. Close to our hearts, this charity and its core values are amazing and we were honoured to host it for the 7th year running.

Teabag Toss Game for Charirty

This year’s delights included savoury and sweet items and they didn’t last long! We also introduced a fun game called ”The Teabag Toss”! There was a prize for the winner and runner-up with the most points. The game was great fun and raising lots of money was the aim of the game – even Neil, our CEO tried his luck at the game!

OUR WINNERS

Helen White,
Managing Director,
SSP Ltd.
& Stuart Scott,
QMP’s Production Director.

Who are Macmillian and what do they do?

In 1911, a young man named Douglas Macmillan watched his father die of cancer. His father’s suffering moved Douglas so much, that he founded the ‘’Society for the Prevention and Relief of Cancer’’. Douglas wanted advice and information to be provided to all people with cancer. Homes for patients at low or no cost, and voluntary nurses to attend to patients in their own homes. Today much of Douglas’s legacy lives on and is now called Macmillan Cancer Support. Douglas’s charities are still a source of support for people living with cancer today. Macmillan receives no government funding, so donations however big or small really do make a difference. You can donate to this amazing charity here!
Donations aren’t just for coffee mornings, but every day to help support people who need advice and care.

How each
donation helps

£43 could pay for 50 copies of our most popular booklet, Help with the Cost of Cancer, potentially helping a person affected by cancer understand the benefits and financial help they could access.

£247 could pay for a Macmillan nurse for a day, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.

£483 could help run our Online Community forum for a day. In this time, 2398 people affected by cancer in the UK can give emotional and practical support to each other on anything to do with cancer – from treatments to coping with everyday life.
