The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning

For the third year running, we are proud to have hosted ”The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning” supporting Macmillan.
On Tuesday 25th September 2018, we hosted a coffee morning to help raise money for such an amazing cause, Macmillan. The yummy cakes were on display from 10am, but they didn’t last long! The canteen was packed full of staff, friends and family members all wanting a piece of the action and to donate their money! From cherry crumble cakes to a coffee and walnut cakes, you name it we had baked it. Chocolate delights were also available, along with savory nibbles and our Production Directors famous Cheese and Potato Chili Infused Pie…. again that didn’t last long either!
After achieving a higher total last year from 2016, this meant that the challenge was on!! The cake displays were bigger and

Thank you to all who baked or faked for The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning supporting Macmillan, and to friends and family who joined us for the morning and most importantly to EVERYONE who donated to such an amazing cause!
Who are Macmillan?
In 1911, a young man named Douglas Macmillan watched his father die of cancer. His father’s pain and suffering moved Douglas so much, he founded the ‘Society for the Prevention and Relief of Cancer’. Douglas wanted advice and information to be provided to all people with cancer, homes for patients at low or no cost, and voluntary nurses to attend to patients in their own homes. Today much of Douglas’ legacy lives on – now called Macmillan Cancer Support, Douglas’ charity are still a source of support for people living with cancer today and are a force for improving cancer care. Over the course of 2017, the Macmillan nurses supported more than 650,000 people. Macmillan receive no government funding, so donations however big or small really do make a difference – you can donate for this amazing charity here!
