Here at QMP, we have been manufacturing workshop workbenches for over 60 years! We proud ourselves by having the knowledge and experience to design built to last workbenches. A little over a year ago, we created a range like no other of our benches. This was the Binary Workbenches range! The range provides our customers with the choice of height-adjustable features with an extremely modern design.
The Binary Workbenches design features a sleek and sturdy power coated black framework with the benefit of being heigh adjustable. These are perfect for use as a sit or stand work desk which is very popular. Not only does it gives freedom of different heights but also aids good posture and excellent health benefits. These include helping to reduce back pain, it can also boost moods and energy levels, lower blood sugar levels and also lower the risk of heart disease.
Electric Binary Height Adjustable Workbench
The Electric Height Adjustable Benches are perfect for easily adjusting the bench to use as a sit or stand work desk. Or indeed if the desk is shared and can be used at different heights for each person. This design out of the complete range is very much the premium solution and is suitable for just about anywhere! But, they are ideal for manufacturing facilities, industrial work workshop areas.
Heights range on these benches from the lowest height of 660mm to the highest point of 1300mm. We also offer these benches in three widths including 1200mm, 1500mm and 1800mm. We have two worktop options which are Solid Beech of 27mm thick and Laminate which is 30mm thick which offers a weight load capacity of 240KG UDL.
The accessories that are suitable for the Binary Benches are different to our other workbench accessories. This is because whereas our Standard workbench accessories are powder-coated light grey, the Binary are power-coated silver. We also feature aluminium back panels instead of mild steel. The accessories available are Louvre Panels, Magnetic Panels, Perforated Panels, Service Ducts, LED Lighting, upper shelves, half shelves the list goes on! Binary Manual Height Adjustable Workbench
The Manual Height Adjustable Workbenches offers the versatility of being height adjustable but just at a budget cost. The make-up of this bench is slightly different to the electric height adjustable by being manual and being a different framework shape, this being oval-shaped. How to manually adjust the height on these benches is by the use of an Allen key.
The heights of the workbench can be adjusted between 730mm this being the lowest point and highest point of 960mm high. We also offer these benches with a choice of three widths including 1200mm, 1500mm & 800mm. The worktops options are the same across the range which the choices being Laminate 30mm thick and a Solid Beech 27mm thick. The weight load for the manually adjusted benches is 240KG evenly distributed across the workbench.

Binary Fixed Height Workbenches
The Fixed Height Binary Benches are offered as a fixed bench height meaning the bench height is manufactured to the height request of our customer. This is also designed with an oval-shaped structure and features heights of 750mm, 840mm & 920mm. The same choice of worktops like our other binary workbenches, these being the Laminate which boosts a thickness of 30mm and the Solid Beech this being 27mm thick which a weight load of 250KG, UDL.

- Maintain the correct posture when standing – don’t slouch over a higher desk, use this as a guideline to help stand up in the correct position
- Alternate between sitting and standing
- Adjust your desk and screen to eye level with standing or sitting
- Purchase an anti-fatigue mat designed to reduce fatigue when standing for long periods of time

Electrical Height Adjustable Workbenches

What is our Binary range?
When we first introduced our range of Binary workbenches at QMP, we wanted to offer our customers a premium heavy-duty workbench designed to last. These benches are tough and durable whilst also being able to be adjusted to the optimum height for the user. Our Binary range is comprised of 3 different systems. These are our: Fixed Height Workbenches, Manual Height Workbenches and finally our Electrical Height Workbenches. In this blog, we focusing on our Electrical Height Adjustable Workbenches and their applications in the workplace.
Binary Electrical Height Adjustable Workbenches
Our Electrical Height Adjustable Workbenches are one of our more premium workbenches. There is no need for the use of allen keys or tools to adjust the height of this workbench. They allow our customers to effortlessly adjust the height of their workbenches with a simply designed two-button adjustment switch, making it quick and easy to change the height of a workbench. Additionally, we offer a more specialist option with our premium adjustment module. This feature allows users to store up to 3 specific heights in memory. This allows users to make adjustments to each level easily. This is ideal if a workbench is being shared between employees of different heights. Furthermore, Electrical Height Workbenches are the fastest Binary range in changing height. A great way to save time in the workplace when adjusting a workbench!
Electrical Binary Workbenches can have their height adjusted from 660mm to 1300mm. The width options for our electrical height units are 1200mm, 1500mm & 1800mm. Our Binary Electrical Workbenches have a UDL of 240kg when evenly distributed. This impressive weight load means customers can use their workbenches in heavy-duty environments such as industrial or warehouse environments.
We offer different worktop options to suit the preferences of each of our customers. We offer a 30mm thick laminate or 27mm solid beech thick worktop option. Laminate is our most durable worktop option with a sleek design. Alternatively, our Beech top looks good even after rigged use due to the fact it can be sanded. The choice just simply depends on the customer’s preference.
Workbench Accessories
As with our entire range of Workbenches here at QMP, we offer a wide range of accessories to accompany our workbenches. All of these accessories have features to make employees working day easier. For example, extra shelving and plastic containers allow for more storage space. Service Ducts allow for the use of electrical plug-in equipment. Whatever the requirements, our accessories will transform workbenches into highly functional workstations. Here are just some of the accessories on offer:

Let us take you back to 1959 when our first Workbenches started hitting the shop floors of many workplace environments! I must say as I wasn’t born then, being a 90’s baby, I couldn’t tell you much about fashion or hairstyles – but what I can tell you, is the quality of our Workbenches that has lasted for well over 60 years within the industry! Since 1959, our Workbenches started strong and finished in top place and have evolved through the industry demands over the decades.
A Proud Workbench Manufacturer
Firstly, where did our range start?
From our knowledge, the first bench range manufactured from QMP was our Angle Frame Workbenches. This bench style today, over the years has evolved to our Heavy Duty Workbenches. We then introduced ranges of our knock-down benches, these being our Square Tube, Cantilever, ESD Square Tube, and ESD Cantilever Benches. With benches such as Premium Manual Height Adjustable, Cost-Saver Height Adjustable Workbenches, and Stainless Steel Workbenches shortly following.
Fast forward to 2021, the Workbench range has gone from strength to strength with product investment and the availability is now down to 5-day delivery for selected workbenches! High-quality, fast delivery! Many investments within our manufacturing facility, combined with the investment in our warehouse meaning we are able to manufacture and distribute to our customers within 5-working days. With decades of different demands within the industry, modern ranges that were never once thought of being amongst our best-sellers. These being the Binary Height Adjustable and Electric Height Adjustable ranges which were designed and manufactured back in 2018. Not only did we introduce a new range but also improved on one of our other designs. This being our Packing Workbenches, now known as the ”Pack Tek” Workbench range with a multitude of packaging

We have our best-sellers within the Workbench range feature on our 5-day category. These include our Square Tube, Cantilever, ESD Square Tube, ESD Cantilever, and Heavy Duty Workbenches.
