There are a vast number of lockers to choose from in the QMP range. This simple locker guide will help you to decide the right locker to suit your needs as well as thinking about other options that may not automatically spring to mind!

Step one - Choose the number of compartments

QMP offers, as standard, five configurations of locker doors. Consider locker space needed, plus the number of individual storage spaces required to decide what will work best for you.

What will users be storing in their locker? Single and double compartment lockers have more capacity to hang clothing. If there is only the need to store a few personal items, a smaller compartment will be more appropriate.

Step two - Single or multiple compartments?

You may decide that lockers are required for a number of storage requirements - in which case, one of our multi-compartment range will be more suitable. All multi-compartment lockers provide space for hanging clothes. Staff lockers also provide smaller storage area, while Duo lockers have a separate smaller storage area.

Step three - Number of locker units required

If you require a large number of lockers then you might wish to consider purchasing locker nests rather than individual units. Lockers can be in nests of two or three, depending on the footprint of the locker.

Nests take less time to install and can save up to 10% over the price of individual units.

Step four - Selecting the right lock

Lockers are fitted with standard cam locks, but we also offer other options which may be more suitable to the user or provider's needs.

Above (L-R):

Cam lock: Provides the user with a key; simple to use and easy to replace

Digital keypad: This battery operated lock can be programmed for single or multi-user "open access" mode

Latch lock: For use with a padlock, which may be provided by the user

Combination lock: A keyless system, with or without master key override

Coin return lock: Available in a selection of coin denominations

Step five - Select the right kind of door

This is perhaps not something people immediately give a great deal of consideration to. QMP offers a range of door options to suit your requirements.

Above L-R:

Laminate - for wet*, dry or heavy duty applications, highly resistant to dents or scratches

Vanguard - standard metal door to match the carcass, can be used in dry or wet areas*

Heavy duty - designed to withstand a greater level of wear and tear

Perspex - can be clear or shaded, ideal for use where the contents of the locker must remain visible

Perforated - providing a greater level of ventilation for the locker's contents

* Wet area application must be specified at the point of order

Step six - Accessorise?

Choose from a wide range of accessories and furniture to further complement your selection. Think about what may be required in addition to simply providing storage space.

Sloping tops can prevent unwanted items being placed on top of the lockers. A variety of seating is available, from island benches to seats fitted to the front of the locker, stands which raise the locker unit off the floor for ease of cleaning access, to combined seats and stands. Additional shelves, divider panels, coat hooks and hanging rails can all be fitted at the point of manufacture.
